"Compassion and Substance"

"My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice." (S.O.S. 2:9)

Before I was saved, I felt as though I had it all figured out; as many others like me, the darkness was so thick and common, it became a wall to hide behind and to keep God out. This is something I think is not only a condition prior to salvation, but it also becomes a condition that we manifest within our new life is Christ. A much different arrangement, but it is pretty much along the same principle that was established in our life before; only this new wall is built with holes.
Be that as it may, these are all temporary and have little or no affect upon our salvation; but, what they do, we might wish to trade the results. I know that might sound so drastic and unrealistic, but you have got to realize the importance of the things we let into our lives; things that might not be forbidden and unclean, but they sure don't keep us pure and on fire!
As I am working through this, the main objective that is driving my interest is the fact that Solomon did not loose his salvation. That might be to some, a questionable statement; but, if you are one that believes God knew everything in advance about his life, then you would also believe God's word is more important than anything else. If God says it is going to be, then guess what that means: no matter what you or I might do, it is going to be!
Unfortunately, there are always consequences and collateral damage; which are unforeseen and unintended by the person that might do something wrong or foolish; but they are known and felt in the heart of our Almighty God! I hope you can see the connection, because it is more real than you know. As a matter of fact, it is the primary reason that Jesus wept; as they thought He was weeping for the death of a friend; it was all about the wall!
  A little more Good News...

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, that are altogether become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. There throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways: and the way of peace have they not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." (Romans 3:10-20)
