"House of Peace"

"Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good." (Psalms 122:9)

It is written, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it." (Psalms 127:1) If there is any other way, I am sure that God would have provided for it; but there is no other way for us to know the Father, except by entering in through Christ Jesus; not if we truly want to know the Father's heart! Looking at the previous verse again, and taking the words, "Peace be within you," as a prayer, this would be putting hands and feet behind those words that were spoken. In other words, if you are going to pray for God to do a work, you should also be prepared to act upon whatever you have prayed for. If you want some Scripture to help illustrate what I am talking about, there is a really good one in James 2:14-17, where James shares about the fact that faith must act. He uses the example of one having a brother or sister that is naked and hungry, and you simply say, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," yet you have not given them the things they are in need of; 'What good have you done for them?' Much the same, when we pray, "Peace be within thee," what good are those words if we do not seek to make peace happen? This is a really touchy subject, no pun intended! We sometimes pretend that it is not our responsibility to minister and be ministers for Christ; as if it is the job of the Pastor or the Evangelist, someone that is called into the ministry. We need to get another set of glasses, if that is what we think; because we are all called to minister in one way or another, each and every one! Case in point: If you have the Holy Spirit living within you, then you are technically a Temple; a walking and talking Temple of God. Paul speaks of this in 1 Corinthians 3:16, asking, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" Oddly enough, this verse is taken from a portion of Scripture where Paul is talking about building upon a foundation, and that foundation is Christ Jesus. Each and everyone of us are not only part of the building, we are responsible for what part we are that is being built. Those glasses that you are looking for need to be reflective, because in order to see what your real ministry is, you need to see clearly, yourself! Not getting it yet? In case you forgot, we are talking about a house, and we are talking about peace...

"Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereof, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loses; but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." (1 Corinthians 3:12-15)
