"Happy Feet"

"He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber." (Psalms 121:3)

If it is of any importance, it was God that called us out of the darkness: He is the one that placed this move in us, to be drawn unto Him, and to do the thing that normally is not done in the hearts of men, to step out into the Light! This is not a small thing that we are talking about, this goes against the flow of what is normal and expected. Jesus shared this truth with Nicodemus, saying, "For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." (John 3:20) But you say, 'Oh, but that's not me, I was not evil!' Anyhow; this is not just another message about feet; this is a message about being planted! Not that we don't have a choice, because making a choice is everything! But truth be known, God has a way of helping us make the right choices. Think of it any way that you want, whether it is a person, or a place, or even a simple word in the form of a whisper; when God wants us to step out into the Light, He gives us some kind of a nudge to make it happen. We are not just called, we are chosen! I was reminded of something yesterday about the name Moses, and how it means exactly what it is that God does to His people: He draws them out! Yes, that is exactly what He does, He draws us out and makes us separate from the others around us. Thank God for that! Because if it were not for that, I would still be somewhere else and hating the church. As crazy as it might seem, the drawing us out of something is the easy part, because that is all His doing; the hard part is getting the world drawn out of us. Fortunately for us, the transformation will be complete when we are given our new bodies; what does not get totally removed before we die, will be completely removed before we get to heaven. You know, I was thinking about what Jesus said about cutting of our good hand or plucking out an eye; I noticed He did not mention cutting off a foot, which might be something considered if we kept walking in the wrong direction...

"Then shall thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken." (Proverbs 3:23-26)
