"In Due Season"

"That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good."
(Psalms 104:28)
This is a very interesting verse, and if you are into researching correlating verses, good luck with that, because the B.L.B. says that there are none. Sometimes it just takes a little nudge; just a little hint from the Holy Spirit, saying, 'Listen up, and pay attention.' I don't know about you, but I tend to be a little impatient when it comes to expecting God to do things that I ask for. It is not that I am wanting something to happen right away, because change is always something that makes me uneasy; it's more about me wanting the result to happen right away, which is something that is somewhat of a process. If you ask God to give you patience, then He will put in situations that will build patience; if you ask Him to help you depend more on Him, be prepared for the ride of your life. You know that saying, 'Be careful what you ask for;' well, things will get really real. That said, God will never give you more than you can handle; at least not without His help! Therein is the key to unlocking this verse, it is about not only depending on Him, but it is also about waiting for Him; the two go hand in hand. If we are going to depend on God to do something in our life, then we must also be patient for Him to do it; that is part of being dependent upon on God, God always knows the right time to make things happen. We can't expect to know when we need something if we are dependent upon God to give it; besides, most of the things God will give requires them to be gathered. In other words, they are usually something that requires us to do something on our own. If God says speak to those dry bones, then that requires us to speak; if God says to leave the land of our fathers, then that requires us to pack up and leave. Nothing is going to happen if we do not do what God might ask us to do. But God, who is all powerful and mighty, is faithful to do whatever it is that He will do next, once we take that step of faith. It is God's way of saying, "Do you trust Me?" Abraham might not have seen to promise, but he sure was blessed by putting hope in God to perform it. We might not see the result of what we ask Him for, but the road to getting there will sure be wonderful, if we just have hope! We can never loose sight of the hope that God has given us! No matter how discouraged you might feel, or how disappointed you are in your outcome, while you still have breath, there is still hope...
"So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. "For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away." But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are faithful ones, whose souls have been saved. Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." (Hebrews 10:35-11:1) NLT
