"Be Amazed"

"Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word." (Psalms 103:20)
Talk about out of the blue, it takes more than just happenstance for things to happen the way that they do. But we would never really know the extent of what goes on in the unseen world all around; every little adjustment to our lives affects something else, and something else causes another thing to take place, and so on, and so on. Pastor Rick was teaching yesterday, and he started out with a question that we all ask God at one time or another: "Father, do you really know best?" The Scripture was 1 Samuel 28:1-10, and was expressed in the form of a battle, how the battles we go through cause certain things to come out in us, some good and some bad. What was amazing through all of that, is that no matter what David or Saul were caused to do, it was all part of God's plan to take Saul off of the throne and put David on it. As dark as things might look in our lives, if we are God's children, it is always going to be okay; even when it looks as though any direction our life might go only leads in destruction, God always knows what's best! Are angels really doing things all around us? You bet they are! They are instruments of God's kingdom to cause His will to happen. One great disaster that might happen here, is something that causes something else to happen over there. If you don't think that it is so, then you need to better read your Bible. The acts of judgment that are poured out on the earth in the Book of Revelation, they are all performed by angels; some of which are some pretty big angels, like really big; big enough to have one foot on land and the other in the ocean. (Revelation 10:2) The bottom line to what I believe that God is saying, is that He always knows best; no matter how terrible the battle might appear that we are going through, He is in control, He has our back, and He knows what He is doing. I think that is the most encouraging thing that I can say, because in all of our stupid things that we do, even in the wrong direction, God all ready knows ahead of time, and He has a plan prepared in advance. I know it sounds crazy, and there are just so many different directions that life can take us; but you just need to be amazed and believe that it's so...
"The earth quakes as they advance, and the heavens tremble. The sun and the moon grow dark, and the stars no longer shine. The LORD is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is his army, and they follow his orders. The day of the LORD is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive? That is why the LORD says, "Turn to me now, while there is still time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don't tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead." Return to the LORD your God, for he is compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve, sending you a blessing instead of a curse. Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine to the LORD your God as before." (Joel 2:10-14) NLT
