"A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things." (Ecclesiastes 10:19 KJV)
""So why do you keep calling me 'Lord, Lord!' when you don't do what I say? I will show you what it's like when someone comes to me, listens to me teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn't obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins."" (Luke 6:46-49 NLT)
If you thought that there might have been no real proof that peace really comes from God, you should pay closer attention to what wasn't said, because there is where the real proof is more real, than what might be actually seen or heard. If you are truly obeying what the Lord says, even though you might go through the storms with everyone else, your peace will remain and you will know, no matter how hard it gets, it will be well with your soul; because if God is for you, nothing can come against you!
Does that mean you won't get harmed or there will not be something tragic happening to you or your loved ones? Sad to say, but no! There will be tribulation; there will be times of storms and some kind of destruction or tragedy. The same things fall on the just and the unjust, the saints and the sinners. We, on the other hand, have more to look forward to, then anything this world has to offer; and anything that is lost, is still not worth more than what we will gain in Heaven!
Basically, what I am trying to say, is that peace comes from being sure that you are being obedient to the Lord. If you know that you are pleasing the Lord, then you don't really have any worries from anything that might be going on all around you. But, if you have convictions and feel as though you have not been a faithful servant, then you really won't feel the peace that comes from God, because you will feel as though you are disconnected, because of sin...
"Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it." (James 4:17 NLT)
