"Fortified"

"These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you." (John 14:25 KJV)

"We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you that we have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy." (1 John 1:1-4 NLT)

The above words from John's first letter to the churches, was his introduction to what he was about to share. Here is the connection to the verse we have before us today, as Jesus was not just speaking about His current conversation with His disciples; but He was referring to all that He had spoken to them, from the beginning of their time together.

There is something we should commit to, and never ever back away from, no matter what: Jesus did everything that the Bible said, and He will do all that He said He would do! This must be something that is fortified within our hearts, because the world and all of the powers within it, will try to take that truth from us. But we must never let it happen!

If you have ever had your doubts about anything you have determined is the truth, then you have most likely had the experience of shaking it off, asking God to forgive you, and begging Him for strength to fortify your faith. It doesn't really count against you, having doubts, as long as you do not change your direction, walking away from your faith.

With that, I must let you know, you will not get away from the Lord that easily! He will not let go of you without a fight! If you think that I am kidding, you must know that you are always a child of God, once you have been born into the Kingdom of God! You might have heard someone say how you can walk away from your salvation, in you so choose to do so; that might be so, but then I would question if it was ever yours to begin with, and on what basis did you commit to the Lord?

I seriously doubt that someone who has really tasted the love of God, would ever really walk away from something that is never-ending and is as fortified, as God's love....

"Dear children, the last hour is here. You have already heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. These people have left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us." (1 John 2:18-19 NLT)
