"Giving Him the Glory" - 2

"If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him." (John 13:32 KJV)

"Yes, Adam's one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life to everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:18-19 NLT)

What happened back then, in that garden, changed more than just the state of Adam and Eve's condition, but it changed the whole order of the responsibility of tending and looking after the earth. Adam had not done what God had given him the responsibility to do, therefore, 'the deed,' if you will, of earth was no longer his to control. From then on, living upon the earth would be a struggle; control and order would no longer be his responsibility.

Here is the point to which we should wonder, Where did the control and order go? We really don't need to look very far to find the answer to that question, because Satan is referred to as, the god of this world. This is why he could offer Jesus the kingdoms of the world, if He would just worship him. Yet, Jesus answered, "Get out of here Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.'" (Matthew 4:10 NLT)

So, we see there is something else that is being taken care of, besides the forgiveness of our sins as Jesus is doing something Adam neglected to do: He is taking back the deed to earth! By the act of obedience to the cross, He is not only going to die for the sins of the world, but His sacrifice will also result in the Title Deed of the earth becoming His. We see this taking place in Revelation 5, as 'The Lamb Opens the Scroll.'

The whole point of me sharing this, very unusual message, is that we can find ourselves being in a world of hurt, if we let go of our responsibilities as husbands! I really don't know how else to explain it, but it is pretty much the same picture; just a little more personal and a lot harder to get back control...

"Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: "Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?" But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it. Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, "Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals." Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent into every part of the earth. He stepped forward and took the scroll from the right hand of the one sitting on the throne. And when he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people. And the sang a new song with these words: "You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth."" (Revelation 5:1-10 NLT)
