"One and Done"

"As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep." (John 10:15 KJV)

"May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God the Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen." (Galatians 1:3-5 NLT)

Interesting, isn't it, how simple this message is, yet so complex? We see is clearly, knowing full well what God has done and why He had to do what we could not do on our own. Imagine if you hadn't listened: where would you be?

I heard a strange message yesterday afternoon, by Pastor Jack. He was sharing how he had spoken to someone about sheep, sheep being the topic of this conversation. I really had never heard this before; or if I have, it wasn't quite as clear as Jack expressed it yesterday. The topic evolved from the argument or discussion between evolution verses creation.

I am sure many of you have had that sort of discussion, which usually ends with both sides agreeing to choose to disagree. Anyone that says they cannot believe in creation, actually is saying, they will not! The science points to creation, if they would just open up their eyes and look!

In this case, Jack shared about a Scientist that was given the task of proving evolution, and he did so with an open mind. When he got to the point of examining sheep, he determined that evolution no longer could have been the order, because sheep would not have survived. Sheep must be looked after; they must have a shepherd!

Anywho, you look into that topic on your own, to see if it becomes a useful tool in your toolbox. As for this simple message, it is simple enough to see: Both the Father and the Son were in total agreement on what was required to save us sheep, because there was no way that we were going to do it on our own...

"The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once and for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared. But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer. You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. Then I said, 'Look, I have come to do your will, O God - as it is written about me in the Scriptures.'"" (Hebrews 10:1-7 NLT)
