"The Real Game of Thrones" -2

"Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart." (S.O.S. 3:11)

There are some things in this crazy life that make it all worth it; and then there are those things that are bigger than life, those things that are bigger because they matter more than life itself! As far as that previous verse, the part about, "being paved with love," don't think for a moment that it has been somehow overlooked, because there is nothing that can be further from the truth; if anything, it has been brought to life and was just made real; real enough to touch, and even walk upon the stones!
Something that Pastor Bryan said yesterday made me think about this blog: Why do I do it? and is it try and gain some sort of stature, or is something I feel God leading me to do? Well, I thought about it; about as much as I care to; because at this point in the game, I don't think that it really matters why we do the things we do; but what matters most of all, is if what we do contributes somehow to what God wants to do. And as far as I can see, or not see, none of us have a clue!
I guess what it is that I mean to say, is that the will of God and way He gets that will accomplished, is so far above our pay-grade, we will only know what and when, when He tells or shows us; other than that, we are just a spot on the canvas and really don't even know if our little spot counts for much or little. The best thing we can hope for, is that we are somehow found worthy; and the best way to be found worthy, is to try and remain humble! Best case for this, is that I get to experience some really sweet fellowship with God, almost every single day that I keep this thing going; so it really does not matter why I do it, if it keeps me in the game!
Besides, it is a little like golf; if it wasn't for those specially good shots, as little as they might happen, then the game would be worthless and do nothing but frustrate my life; but man, let me tell you, when you hit the good shot, it is always worth it; and it keeps you coming back for more!
Now, about that thing about, "being paved with love," which is something that Matthew Henry puts like this: "This is the work of Christ himself wherein the glory of his grace and love to sinners most eminently appears, and which makes him amiable and admirable in the eyes of believers. In this covenant love is conveyed to them, and they are carried in it to the perfection of love, and as it were, ride in triumph."
Try as hard as you might, but this is something that you cannot make happen; it is something that you get to ride in, all the way to the end! Oddly enough, even if it might appear to be a crown of dishonor, it really depends who might be wearing it and why...

"When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not any law to break. Still, everyone died -from the time of Adam to the time of Moses -even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. But there is a great difference between Adam's sin and God's gracious gift. For the sin of this man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but God's free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:12-17) NLT
