"More Than We Know" -2

"Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee." (S.O.S. 1:3)

As for this title, to be perfectly honest, I did not know, and probably still cannot see the full meaning; but this much I do know: we are totally and without a doubt unable to see the power that is made available to us, if we could put our full faith in God! To make that claim is pretty easy, it really does not take much of a imagination to dream or invasion some of the mighty works that could be done, if we could just have the faith enough to believe.
Maybe this is just a work on words, but it is the words, "poured forth," that has my attention. If we could, for just a moment, think about what it means for Living Water to be poured forth into our lives; what you might visualize is the working of everything that is not of the Lord being washed out and filtered out; a purifying, if you will, that replaces all that is bad and unholy, with all that is good and pleasing to the Lord, because it is the Lord that is working in you!
To make matters even more a mystery, we must consider the "name" that is used; which is more than just what He is called, it is His reputation, His fame, His glory; His authority and His power! In the name of Jesus every knee must bow! Which does not leave any doubt whatsoever whether or not they they even want to, they will, no matter how they might feel about it, they will not be able to stand before Him! A good example of that would be in John's description of what happen when Jesus said, "I am He," when they had come to arrest Him in the garden: John says, "they went backward, and fell to the ground." (John 18:6)
I believe that there are only a few people that actually have ever really come close to experiencing just a portion of what God can do in and through them; and even those that the Bible speaks about were still found to have times of weakness and times of doubt. Blame it on the flesh, because the flesh is where every weakness is found!
Less of me, and more of You! Nothing else will do...

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." (Romans 6:11-14)
