"True Security"

PSALMS 127 [A Song of degrees for Solomon.]

As with almost every trial or circumstance we face, the easy way out of anything might appear to be the hardest to endure; and yes, the title above this Psalm in my Bible does match this title today. Also, in case you might be wondering, I was tempted to follow up on a few points that were made yesterday and share some more on Psalms 126; but as it turns out, the things I wanted to say are summed up in the title above. If you have been following this blog for any amount of time, then you probably have seen me post about what I think of Solomon's end and where I expect to see he ended up: in heaven along with all the other saints! Some might disagree, as I have heard them say; but if you try and base our security upon our performances, you have seriously missed the point! My mom use to say, If you point your finger at someone, you will have ten fingers pointing back at you. To the point of our rejoicing, we are blessed beyond belief! There is nothing or nobody that can take away the salvation that we have been given, because it belongs to God in the first place. If you think you can somehow change that, you have another thing coming! Can you lasso the moon and bring it down to earth? No, I didn't think so! In the same way, you cannot touch or disturb what God has made or created; because if He has established something to be so, only He can undo what He has done. I will leave off with that! It is believed by most, that this Psalm was penned by David for his son, Solomon; and yet, there are some that believe Solomon wrote it himself, as he did several other Psalms. If you really want to know, I don't think it really matters because they both had a couple things in common when it came to raising children. This is about family, no doubt; and whether you can realize it or not, the church is one big family! Paul speaks to the family being the body of Christ, as he shows how important and vital each and every member is to one another. (1 Corinthians 12:12-32) And yet, after showing the importance of each one to the other, he takes that knowledge to the next level by showing us, "A more excellent way," LOVE! That might be the single most thing that matters, beyond anything you could ever do or say, Do you believe that God loves you! That is really what it all comes down to, because any other thought is not true security...

"The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own work. For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. Because of God's grace to me, I have laid a foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have -Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:8-11) NLT
