"Rooting Out Deceit"

"He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight." (Psalms 101:7)
People can be so nasty, if it's okay to use that term. Not that we don't already know this to be so, but the rate of divorce even being close to the outside within the church, that alone should tell us that there is something terrible going on within the Body. Within this promise, David is dealing with the number one issue among the church, the family, and even the more than we might actually know; that issue is deceit. Deceit is where it all began in the beginning; and it more than likely did not start with Eve. When the devil actually revolted against God is not really known, except that many believe it was at the creation of mankind; when God said, "Let us make man in our image," that was the moment in time when the devil began to his envious plan to undo God's creation. But, be that as it may, there is still the question of Adam, as in, Where was Adam while Eve was being deceived by the devil? As to Eve's addition to the one rule in the garden, adding, "Not to touch it," who's to say that Adam is not the one to have told here not to do so? And if he did, who's to say that it was before or actually after she had already touched it? We really don't know how long it was from the time of Eve's creation to the time of the fall; but I have heard it said that their years did not start to be counted as alive until after they were kicked out of the Garden. What I am getting at, is that Adam may have had a part in Eve's being deceived. Although it was the devil who is called the father of lies, deceit is what lies are used to cover up. I have seen a lot of deceit being put to work within the church; most people do not even realize that they are taking part in it, especially if it is made to look constructive. But it happens also within the family, and it happens also within a nation. Right now, within this nation, and primarily within this State, there is a movement under foot to not only normalize something that is wrong, but it is trying to make it not only right, but protected and special. I saw it happening several years ago with homosexuality; where young children were being shown how it was normal to experience those kind of affections towards one another. Now it has stepped up to something new; now it's all about choosing what you are, whether a boy or a girl. Right from the very beginning of School, five year old children are being taught how they can change what they were created to be, based upon how they feel. Talk about going from "Don't eat" to "Don't touch," once you take away the choice, it's pretty much a done deal...
"But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ said. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have the God's Spirit in them. But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God's love. And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still other, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives." (Jude 17-23) NLT
