"The Fool's Diet" -2

"Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God." (Psalms 53:4) Although, there is another way that we can look at this verse, which is to show the feeding habits of those that say that God does not exist; or if He does exist, then He does not concern Himself with the affairs of man. Consequently, if you do not accept that God is in control, and if you do not think that He cares about our lives, then you are not going to have much toleration towards His people; especially those that are not silent about what is wrong and what is right. We live in a day when everyone is talking about tolerance and accepting everyone as they are; that is unless you are someone that is expressing their belief in God, and especially those that confess the name of Jesus Christ. What is happening now is pretty much what happened in Lot's day, with one small exception: in Lot's day, he settled in the strange land, and was corrupted; today, and especially here in America, the corruption has overtaken the good. And why is that? How did we let it happen? This verse says it all in three very simple statements, all of which have the basic ingredients to how evil takes over, and how good is put aside for the sake of offending someone over how they feel, or what they believe. The fist thing that happens, is that God is taken out of the equation; if not completely taken out, He is minimized in stature to nothing more than a point of argument; which means, everyone gets to have their own opinion, and has the right to be heard. The second thing that happens, is that those who express rules of law, or rules that hinder peoples rights of expression, they are made to be silenced; because after all, you can't give everyone the right of expression, and then have those expressing something that takes those rights away. And the third thing that happens is lawlessness run amok! Not that this is what was intended, at least not by the people, but it is the result of not having called upon God for guidance and order in the establishment of law, and in the rules of conduct among the people...
"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." (Romans 1:21-25)
