"Game Changer"

"Save me, O God, by Thy name, and judge me by Thy strength." (Psalms 54:1) It might of sounded a little like I was complaining, and maybe I was for a moment; but God is in control, so the buck stops there, and then we wait. Really, what is the point of us still being here, if we are not serving the Lord? Does it seem a little foolish to think that God has a reason behind every life that He calls into His kingdom? As I was laying beside my wife this morning praying, I could not help but think why God still has not let her go home. I know that there are people around us who wonder the same; if not, then they are wondering why I am still holding on to her, or if I am even in my right mind. But God has not left me without hope; although it does seem as though she will ever be golf with me again, I am still holding out for those long talks on the beach at sunset. The apostle Paul was making a very good point in 2 Corinthians 4, and it is one that we need to endeavor to put into practice for all of these everyday issues and set of circumstances. If we know that we have been called by God, and if we know that God has saved us, and if we know that God is in control of our lives, then our lives are a ministry to someone; if not just one single person that needs to know the truth! Every single soul matters to God; which includes yours and mine! Don't think for a moment that David did not know this to be true of his own life, because he did; and because he did, he made this known within this opening verse. I really seriously doubt that David wrote this at the time that it happened; and I am pretty sure that he wrote reflecting back to when it did, and then showing how it all unfolded; not just from a perspective of after the fact, but also showing us how he felt during the ordeal. If you read both of these occurrences, when the Ziphims told Saul where David was, both of them ended up with David sparing Saul's life. It might just be that God has you here for a specific reason, whatever that reason might be, we just do not know, but God knows; and the really strange thing is, even if your doing something that is somehow against God's anointed, it might be your purpose in God's plan to save just one more soul. You never know what set of circumstances will open someone's eyes to the truth, or will prepare their hearts to be softened...
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of the darkness, hath shinned in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." (2 Corinthians 4:5-7)
