"Conformed To God" - Really?

Sometimes we just need to stop and chew on God's Word for a moment or two, to really let it sink in. Now let me ask you a simple question: How are we conformed to God? The question might seem simple, but the answer; well, let's put it this Way: We Are! Excuse me? Listen; our being conformed to God, which actually is being conformed to the Image of His Son Jesus Christ, is not something that we do, nor can we undo; but what we can do, is to willfully disregard our conformity to satisfy the desire of our flesh. You see; when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, there is a transformation that takes place within us, and in that instant, we are conformed to God, to the Image of His Son. And it is by the power of His Son Jesus Christ that we have been conformed; By His Life, By His Death, And By His Resurrection. So then, does that mean we need to do nothing? No! We can do nothing to be, or not be conformed; but we must live out the conformity which has been manifested within us. And it is really not that we must, because our salvation depends upon it, but rather, we must, because it is now who we are in Christ. To not live out Christ in our lives is now contrary to the way we have been conformed to be. I hope you got that? What this really means is this: If our lives are not Living out Christ, then we have not really been conformed to His Image; which really means, that when we do really meet Jesus, the chances are, we will hear Him say, "I did not know you". So how do we know that we have been conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ? By the Fruit of our conformity; By the Love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts; By the desire within us to do His Will, and the heartache we feel when we don't. It is not based upon what we do that we are conformed to His Image; we do what we do, and don't do what we must not do, because we have been conformed to the Image of the Living God!!! "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: For ye are not under the Law, but under Grace." (Romans 6:11-14)
