"Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright." (Hebrews 12:16 KJV)
"When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outburst of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:19-21 NLT)
There are only so many things we can fall into that might cause us to turn and throw away this wonderful gift that we have been given; following the desires of our sinful nature is by far the biggest of them all! Sometimes there are some that fall away due to being hurt or disappointed with outcome or crushed by certain tragedy. Most of which, is curable, and there is always light at the end of that tunnel.
But following the desires of our sinful nature, is the thing that causes certain disasters, the kind that make even the strongest of us, whither and fall away. I have witnessed this happen to several well-known people; it almost seems like the stronger they are, the harder they can fall.
Not that I have anything to boast about, because there have been times when the desires of my sinful nature caused me to go online, searching for things I thought would satisfy my craving. Just so you know, it doesn't work! We can never satisfy the cravings of our sinful nature! They only get stronger and want more and more, never are they satisfied; not until to turn away and beg for God's help!
Anywho, that's my confession; as most pretend to do, they make it seem as though they are not really hurting anyone; but truth be told, love is cheapened and hearts are broken; making it really hard to put the pieces back together again. But God...
"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another." (Galatians 5:22-26 NLT)
