"Misconstrued"

"Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions."
(Psalms 106:39)

 You do realize that it is only going to get worse, right? Not quite sure how it all ties in, but social media plans a really big part in the spiritual warfare that is stirring up the hearts and minds of our youth. It seems to be the biggest link between the largest group of people, and I know that something connected to so many people at one time has got to have some kind of connection with the dark and sinister forces that are working in this world. When you analyze this passage of Scripture from that point of view, it takes the object created and gives it power, the kind of power that takes control over people. Okay, I know this sounds extremely nuts and out there, but this exactly what this verse is speaking about. This word "defiled," is really not that hard to see that it means to be contaminated, much like someone that might be affected by something they have been too close to, or held too closely for too long. Much like the title of this post, there is a power involved with the invention, the kind of power that is highly misunderstood. What is the harm? A question people ask all the time, especially when what they are doing is something that seems to be common and normal with the rest of society. Anytime we give something in our lives the power to control our thoughts and actions, that thing, whatever it might be, will begin to control more and more of our life. I know it sounds like I am making a big deal out of nothing, but it is like a plague; and if you could only see the spiritual conduit, then you too would know exactly what I am trying to say. Okay, let me take this on from another direction. We have an enemy in this world who wants to feed as many people as possible the wrong information. If you don't know who it is that I am taking about, he is the "father of lies." He is very good at what he does, and he uses the things we are most attached to or interested in to get us to listen to and accept his lies. If you don't think I am telling the truth, then simply look at Eve: what was Eve doing at the tree in the first place? What was the harm in looking at the tree? God said not to eat of it, but somehow she added not to touch it; but no one said anything about not looking...

"One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. "Come with me," he said, "and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great prostitute, who rules over many waters. The kings of the world have committed adultery with her, and the people who belong to this world have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality." The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls. A mysterious name was written on her forehead: "Babylon the Great, Mother of All Prostitutes and Obscenities in the World."
