"A Real Deliverance"

"But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: Thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying." (Psalms 70:5) As I said in the opening post, this Psalm might be short, but it packs some really good punch; providing you are expecting and seeking for something to happen. But isn't that how it always is anyways? I don't care where you might be in the Scriptures, if you are expecting God to speak to your heart, and you are seeking for Him to move, then more often than not, you are going to get some sort of delivery from something. This verse pretty much says it all, when it comes to getting real deliverance from any sort of sin, or vice, or lack of service; actually, I am under the opinion that the lack of service is what gets us into the most trouble: having too much idle time on our hands allows us time to make idols, and idols always come in between us and the Lord. Breaking it down, there are four very simple points that I see, four very simple things that we need to remember when it comes to real deliverance. The first of which, is that we need God always, especially, right now! That might not seem so important to some, but if you are asking God to do something special in you, you want it to be like the "Walls of Jericho" falling down; the type of special that only God can do, and that brings down the wall of resistance. Secondly, we can not ever forget that He is our God! No other god will do! Nothing created or imagined; nothing even outside this personal and loving God spoken about in these Holy Scriptures! He is my God; the one who called me out of the darkness and the one who will carry me all the way through to the gates of Heaven. Thirdly, He is "my help and my deliverer" right now! Not down the road, or after I get some things sorted out! No! Right now is the acceptable time for deliverance; right now is something that is not dependent upon conditions being meet, or having to correct something wrong in your life first; God will take care of all of that, we just need to be "poor and needy" and He will answer. And fourthly, He must be LORD! If He is LORD of your life, He will not tarry, He cannot tarry, His very Word says so! He hears His servant's voice and He delivers; no if's, and's, or but's about it, the Master will always respond to the servant, just as the servant must respond to his Master; after all, you are His prize possession... "And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By His death, Jesus opened a new life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near." (Hebrews 10:19-25) NLT
