"Sticktoitiveness"

"For Thou art my Rock and my Fortress; therefore for Thy name's sake lead me, and guide me." (Psalms 31:3) "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't!" That's the catchy little tune I had within my head this morning as I was rolling out of bed; wondering, What the heck is this all about!!! We must come to the simple conclusion that we cannot trust our own best judgement, because our Father knows best! Plain and simple as that might sound, it's the truth that must be told; and more than just told, it must be lived out in our lives as the truth that we believe in for our own life; meaning that we live it, not just say that we believe it to be so! Remember what this Psalm is talking about, which is 'Commitment to God'; whereas, we need to have a bearing as to which way is up, and then we must continue to push in that direction; remembering all along, that it is His hand that is guiding us, and sometimes there are some bumps along the way. It's not rocket science, but it is logical, and something that we must put into practice as the way our life is to be governed; after all, that is why God is God; and beyond the fact that He is God, He is a God that knows what we are, and what we are capable of doing, both the good and the bad! He will never allow us to be tempted beyond that which we can endure; however, when we take our eyes off of Him, our temptations can become overwhelming, and our trials can seem unbearable; which is why we must always know which way is up, and where we are to be looking! (I know I am using a lot of exclamation points today, but that's because I have a lot of exclaiming to do!) The general point that I am trying to make, is the fact that we are not able to be trusted to make the right choices for the direction of our own lives, because we are so unstable and so easily led astray. A perfect picture of what that might look like, is that of building sand castles on the beach; as you are constantly having to rebuild and reshape your castle, only to have the waves come and tear it down again; so we allow God to build it for us, because it is only what He builds for us that will stand... "He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared. The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved." (Nahum 2:5 & 6)
