"Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity." (Hebrews 5:2 KJV)
"Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them. Jesus told them, "In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called 'friends of the people.' But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves."" (Luke 22:24-27 NLT)
It might appear to be something that changes this discussion, but there are certain things that make us be compassionate towards others, while at the same time, being the one that watches out for those that have no clue what is right. Not to say that I have anything to contribute, but I do believe that I know when there is something to be said when people are mistaken.
Did you know that there are people alive today who still believe the earth is flat? There are even Christians that have a belief that the earth is flat, even though the Bible says that it is round. Not that it is a thing we need to call them ignorant for, believing the earth is flat; because truth be told, most of what we think is real and happening all around us, many people, (like myself,) believe we can't see even half of what is really going on around us!
That said, the facts that are given in the Bible cannot be denied; no matter how you try to explain it isn't so, there is more proof that it is than most people think. I was watching a movie the other night called, "The Investigator," which was about a retired Police Office that went to work at a school, teaching about Criminal Justice.
The topic was about finding the truth in cases that might have happened years ago, and one of the students asked if they could do a case file about Jesus Christ; was He real, did He really get crucified, and did He really rise from the dead. The main point that was brought out was about the disciples and their stories about Jesus being risen from the dead: They kept telling the truth, even to the death...
"But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who you are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law." (Romans 3:21-28 NLT)
