"The Call of God"

"And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron." (Hebrews 5:4 KJV)

"So John's disciples came to him and said, "Rabbi, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Massiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him instead of coming to us." John replied, "No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven. You yourselves know how plainly I told you, 'I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him.' It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the best man is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less." (John 3:26-30 NLT)

Getting to the point, whether you can believe it or not, God is in control! No matter what might seem to be happening, either good or bad, God has the ability to know what will happen next, even though He might not stop it from happening, He will use it for something else, whether it happens sooner or later, God always wins, His will is always going to happen, just as He wants it to happen!

It is displayed throughout the Bible, how things that have gone wrong or seem bad, God uses them to make good things happen. Even those things which might look as if they are terrible and destructive, God can and will make them become useful to His wonderful plans.

The first thing I actually shared about was about God's will verses His perfect will, as if there was a difference. It was dealing with King Hezekiah and the time when Isaiah came and told him to get his house in order, because his sickness was going to be his death. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and wept, asking God to give him more life. And God, seemingly changed His mind, giving him 15 more years to live.

Did God really change His mind? I seriously doubt it! What He did do, was change Hezekiah's heart, giving him a proud heart, instead of having a humble heart. Which caused Hezikiah to change from being a humble king, to one that was proud; proud enough to brag to those ambassadors from the land of Babylon, showing them all the treasures in the Temple.

We might look at that as something of a mistake; as if God makes mistakes, because He never does! Actually, the children of Israel owed Him some time, so He made a way for them to pay that time back to Him, by being captured and taken over by Babylon.

When God called for David to be the King of Israel, He knew and called David, "A man after God's own heart." Did God not know all of the bad things David would do? No, God was well aware of David's weaknesses and the things he would do. But God also knew that he trusted Him and would believe in God's forgiveness to those who truly believed in Him and loved Him. Even though he made some very bad things happen, God still kept His promises and David's place in His Kingdom...

""Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David. See how I used him to display my power among the peoples. I made him a leader among the nations."" (Isaiah 55:3-4 NLT)
