"Slight Adjustment"

"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat." (Hebrews 5:12 KJV)

  ""Who does the LORD think we are?" they ask. "Why does he speak to us like this? Are we little children, just recently weaned? He tells us everything over and over - one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!" So now God will have to speak to his people through foreign oppressors who speak a strange language! God has told his people, "Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest." But they would not listen. So the LORD will spell out his message again, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there, so that they will stumble and fall.  This might take a moment to talk about, as there are certain conditions we all seem to discover, without even knowing that we have gone totally off the path, just by making a slight adjustment! This is really not that hard to understand, because there are certain things that can change the direction we should be going, into the direction that we don't belong going down. 

 I have heard explained as a ship which is crossing from one side or the sea to the other: just one little bit of a degree off, and instead of reaching the destination you wanted, you end up somewhere else, without even realizing you were going in the wrong direction. 

 I have no desire to even try to know all the answers; it really isn't my place to think I can even try. But we should all know the truth about our salvation: as to the reason He came, the purpose of the cross, and the power of the resurrection...

"Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith.
