"The Highest Priest"

"As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." (Hebrews 5:6 KJV)

""I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one - as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me."" (John 17:20-21 NLT)

Please forgive me if I seem to be going too fast, there are so many things that I feel are important in these verses; especially the fact that Jesus is always on our side! Yes, we make mistakes and even break some of the promises we make, but there is nothing that we can do that He doesn't already know; and yet, He still is there, our Mediator, pleading our case!

This might not be as simple as it seems; but there is something I believe in, with all my heart: That I am a sinner, and that Jesus came and died on the cross for my sins; and that He rose on the third day, giving me eternal life in Him! It really is that simple; we just make it complicated and hard to believe; even sometimes thinking it doesn't count for us!

The whole point in what this salvation is meant to be about, is God's love! He loves us so much, that He sent His Son to come in our place, taking the penalty for our sins; and, because He rose again, just as He said He would, He gave us life everlasting; even though we do not deserve it...

"Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will. That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives in you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by the same Spirit living within you." (Romans 8:5-11 NLT)
