"For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15 KJV)
"Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all." (Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT)
If you have been walking with the Lord for several decades, then you probably have come to know that He doesn't try to make us do anything but gives us the opportunity to do things by opening doors and softening our hearts. Having been saved for almost 44 years, I have experienced that His yoke is easy, if we just enjoy whatever He has given us to do.
If, when it seems tuff and there are problems that seem overwhelming, and we just give it all to Him, remembering that we are just servants, not the ones in control; then things seem to work themselves out! It is that way in ministry, just as it is in our normal lives: Give everything to the Lord, and don't worry about life!
When it says, "our infirmities," it is talking about that which is caused by want; want of strength, to understand a thing, to bear trials and troubles. These are the things which sometimes overwhelm us, as we just try to deal with life. But, when we give Him full control of our lives, (as if that is even possible,) we will understand what it is like to not want, but to just know peace and security in Him...
"For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly. He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls." (1 Peter 2:21-25 NLT)
