"Sweetness"

"The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep." (Ecclesiastes 5:12 KJV)

"My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap." (Proverbs 3:21-26 NLT)

For the most part, I am feeling today is a great blessing, as today is our anniversary; Marianne and I have been married for forty-two years today. Time sure does pass quickly; I feel as though we have done so many things together, but not hardly enough! It has also been almost twenty-one years since she had her surgery; the day that my life turned upside-down!

For those of you who might not know, this blog was started on January 1st, 2010; mostly because I felt as though I wanted to share something about my commitment to caring for my wife; regardless of what others might think, I felt compelled and blessed by doing just that; even though it hurts some days to see her having to live in this condition.

The whole point to this, whatever or wherever it goes, is God's will; whether it is His perfect will or not, He will make everything His will and purpose: Everything! We sometimes forget that, thinking that He won't or that we have gone too far, fallen too far from grace, or not followed Him as close as we should have; so, we think that He no longer listens.

Well, that is hogwash! No pun intended! If there is one thing I have learned over these last, almost 43 years on following the Lord, He never stops loving us, He never gives up on us, and He will never leave us alone...

"Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing." (PSALM 34:8-10 NLT)
