"Heartfelt" - More!

"For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God." (Ecclesiastes 5:7 KJV)

"Who among you fears the LORD and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the LORD and rely on your God. But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will have from me: You will soon fall down in great torment." (Isaiah 50:10-11 NLT)

There was a song we once sang in church, maybe over 20 years ago, which said: "Change my heart, O God; Make it ever new." We really must be careful how we enter into any sort of life-changing move in the direction of our lives; without waiting on the Lord, we might find ourselves doing something which we will seriously regret. Trust in God alone; do not lean on your own understanding!

This is the introduction to the rest of this chapter; whether or not you can understand what Solomon is getting at, I believe it has a lot to do with making plans and changing things in our lives, based upon what we think, and feel is best, without first checking in with God! If you are willing to direct your life based upon what you are given, such as making choices based upon your income: the more you make, the more you can change your direction; then you find yourself doing things which move you away from the Lord.

If I had any way to change the directions, I took without waiting on the Lord, I would gladly do so; but what is done has already been done; now we deal with it, moving on and trusting God more and more! Whatever happens to you in your journey, God will not abandon you and throw you aside! If you are His child, He will do all that He must in order to get you on the right path; even if it causes you to fall down in great torment!

We are to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, but no matter how much and how hard we love Him, He loves us more...

"Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for everything we see, and pride in your achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from the world. This world is fading away, along with all that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever." (1 John 2:15-17 NLT)
