"Who Sent You?"

"Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?" (John 2:18 KJV)

"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; but Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." (Hebrews 3:1-6 KJV)

As much as I would want to, I can really take no credit for anything, except to be responsible for my sin. James says, "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." (James 1:13-14 KJV)

That word, "enticed," is a very interesting way to explain being baited, or basically, caught by bait; much like you would catch a fish, by putting on a flashy and colorful lure, something that might catch their eye, causing them to throw all caution to the wind, and take the bite. Interesting how it works, but it is all dependent upon being drawn away by your own lust!

In other words, if you do not go towards it, then you will not be enticed; but how is it possible to not, seeing how it is something we have been conditioned to do! Do you really think it is within your ability to withstand temptation? I am really pretty sure that it takes more than flesh and blood to overcome the flesh and blood's desires; something a bit more longer lasting, that gets to actually bring us through and beyond all of this, temporary pleasures.

Don't ask me why I started off on that, when I meant to be started off on giving an answer to the question of the Jews, Who sent you? Basically, that was the question they were asking, 'By whose authority are you doing what you are doing? And give us a sign to prove who He is!'

Anywho, there is the answer to my question: Whose are you? If we are of the house He built, then we belong to Him; and in His house, we have authority to protect the house, based upon His authority! Long story short: How often do you use that authority that you have been given...

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV)
