"This is a God Thing!" -Too

"Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:13 KJV)

"For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature." (Galatians 6:13-15 KJV)

Just in case you might not have noticed, I placed a period at the end of verse 12 on that second post; to be clear, it was not originally intentional, but after I did, I decided to keep it there as a chance to use the colon which should have been there as a witness. The verse above is an expression of the thought put forth in verse 12, which expresses what happens to those who receive Christ, and who believe upon His name. To which, we are not reborn of blood, nor by strength, nor by might, but by God's Spirit!

This might not make sense to some, but it is the power of God that saves us, not anything we do or do not do. Having been raised in the kind of belief system that I was, I have somewhat become familiar with what it is that religion does, and what it does not do. What it does, is give you a set of rules and make you feel as though you are working towards some particular end; what it does not do, is guarantee that no matter what, you saved by grace, and grace alone!

I am fully persuaded that the most important thing we must focus upon is the fact that we have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. This is not about what we can do, as if we are required to prove something to God; this is about us believing with all of our heart, that He has made the way for us, and now we are allowed to simply walk in the power He has given us; free from the law, but based upon the love that was demonstrated on that cross!

But, you might say, I feel so disqualified at times: there must be something I must do to make myself more worthy? Try all you might, you are not worthy enough to earn any part of what Jesus did for you on that cross! He is God! He placed Himself upon that cross to die a painful and humiliating death for your sins; what in the world could you possibly do, that you might add to that? LOVE HIM!!!

Easier said than done, but nonetheless, it is what we are required to do! But, it is also, sad to say, not something that we can do, by our own strength, with our mind, or even within our own heart! It will only be by His Spirit that we can have enough love within us, to love as we should love...

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us his Spirit." (1 John 4:10-13 KJV)
