"His Power"

"His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires." (S.O.S. 5:14)

May I add, that cheek was also as a jawbone; to be as bold as I can: BE BOLD!

After gathering my thoughts, it is abundantly clear that the church needs a real hard awakening to what they are up against; being silenced and minimized, the church needs to put their focus upon Jesus, and not upon those who are not Him! I really don't know how else to say it, because no man on this earth is able to compare himself to Christ; if they even hint at such a notion, don't walk away, run!

Anywho: Who is this powerful King we are looking at, if not Him that holds are hearts? When Jesus calmed the sea and the winds, the disciples asked in amazement: "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey him?" (Matthew 8:27) It might have made more sense if they had known He was the Creator of everything; if He made it, He can control it! (Say What!) Matthew Henry points out a little something, as he says, "His hands, which are stretched forth to receive his people and to give to them, and thus rich and comely." We cannot even begin to realize what great power is generated in His outstretched arms!

Before you try and figure out what that means, I would entertain the obvious examples from the night He was crucified. We can see all sorts of  acts that were performed, many of which were done by men that were not ordained, followers, or even believed in God; but none the less, they were used of God to bring about that which was His will. Pilate alone, a man that believed in a human god; gods of this world that gave forth fame and fortune; made up gods, to lead forth armies and conquer territories for Rome: he, in his ungodly beliefs and fashions, made the decree, "King of the Jews!" It could not be changed or altered, as it was not only his decree, but it was Truth! Whether he knew it or not, he was an agent of God's mighty hand!

In this verse, a strong connection is made between the hands and the belly: both of which display power; the hands are the power to have control, the belly is the power to hold. In this life, as frail as we might be, He is not only the One in control, but He is also the One that holds us. If you were going to try and imagine how that works, you probably won't; if you even try, you would most likely mess it up and get yourself all tied up in knots. Which reminds me, if we are speaking about power, God's love is the most powerful force in all of creation. "O storm-battered city, troubled and desolate! I will rebuild you with precious jewels and make your foundations from lapis lazuli." (Isaiah 54:11 NLT)

O Lord, please help me to keep my eyes on You...

"True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, "You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court."" (Romans 3:3-4) NLT
