"Redirected"

"He made him lord of his house, the ruler of all his substance: to bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom." (Psalms 105:21-22)
Come on, you can't tell me this isn't fun. God truly does work in mysterious ways! I have learned over these last several months to not get so fixated on all that is going on in the world, but to just keep my eyes looking up, for the King is coming, very soon! But the one thing I see for certain that is happening, only because it is so hard to miss, is that more and more churches are moving away from teaching the Bible, and they are becoming more and more a reflection of society. This is the perfect example of the world influencing the church, instead of the church influencing the world. So, without hesitation, I say that it is time to get ready! Jesus said, "So you, too must keep watch! For you don't know the day your Lord is coming." (Matthew 24:42 NLT) Just like this instance we witness before us today, it happens in an instant; just like that, that is how the LORD works in such a mysterious way. Jacob went from prison to being ruler of all of Egypt's substance, with a stroke of a pen. Isn't that the way the Lord always works? We are not changed over long periods of time, through many different trials and blessings; we are changed in an instant, at the Lord's command. What blows my mind, is how God makes it all happen over such long periods of time and through so many people. The change takes place instantly, but all the things that led up to that change, involved countless numbers of people and generations of time. Isn't that amazing? That is why I believe God does not show us the plan He was laid out before us; if He did, we would try to alter it or make it to better fit to our own desires and expectations. If we knew what the outcome was going to be, then we would constantly worry about the direction things are currently going. But God does not work in that way; His way of doing things are for Him to receive the glory. Just when things look like they couldn't get any worse, God will redirect everything, with just a stroke of a pen; just when it looks like things are coming to an end, God will breath new life into it, and make it new again. There is nothing that He cannot overturn or redirect; there is no life that He cannot turn up-side-down...
"This is what the LORD says: "You will rule the Egyptians, the Ethiopians, and the Sabeans. They will come to you with all their merchandise, and it will be yours. They will follow you as prisoners in chains. They will fall to their knees in front of you and say, 'God is with you, and he is the only God. There is no other.'" Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways."
(Isaiah 45:14-15) NLT
