"Lost in Love"

"Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD." (Psalms 105:3)
By now you might be wondering about all this stuff about love; if so, caring and love go hand in hand, much like the word charity and love. If you say that you love someone, then you must also care for and be charitable towards them. It is like what James speaks of in James 2:14-17, regarding faith and works; love is an action word that requires that you do something in order for it to be real. Saying that you love someone does not demonstrate your love for them, it only opens the door for you to show them that you mean it. It is the same with our love for the Lord. When we say that we love Him, we must demonstrate that love by doing those things which He has instructed us to do. It's not about works, it is about obedience to what you know is right. Easier said than done; trust me, I know! But that does not mean we do not try! Failure is never an excuse for not trying again and again; it is only a reason for us to try harder and harder. God will never ask you to do something that you can not do; but He will ask you to do something that might require His help! But you must do something! You are not going to experience the love of God unless you share His love with others. Sure, you can feel the love of God in the way that He has forgiven you of your sins, but even that forgiveness means nothing if you cannot forgive others who need your forgiveness. His love is the same; we experience His love in our lives when we love; if we do not love, then we really do not know love. And we can't just say that we love, love requires us to do something in order for it to be real and affective. Maybe you don't see the connection; but if we really are seeking after God, then we need to be on the same page with Him; and if we are on the same page, then we will be rejoicing. It is really that simple! If you think it's not, then think about those times when you feel joy and those times when you don't. In the times when you are doing what the Lord says to do, your heart is filled with joy; in the times when you are not, your heart is gloomy. At least that is my experience, but I am kind of weird like that, and that is how I prefer it to be. At least then I know when I am messing up...
"Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish every thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."" (Isaiah 55:6-9) NLT
