"Heaven's Rain"

"Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven." (Psalms 85:11)
Taken at His word, every bit of it, we can see that God wants more than ever to bless His people; if they would be just that, His people! You know, just because we might sometimes stray away from Him, or we might miss the mark a few times, in a day, does not mean that we aren't His people; we are His people because He calls us His people. That's what makes the Good News so wonderful and hard to understand, because it is God who justifies and calls us just; all that we need to do is to be truthful and admit what we are and ask Him to forgive us; if we believe in our heart, and we confess with our mouth, then He says in His word that we are saved. What is it that we believe? There are basically two things that we must truly believe; one is really easy, that we are broken and need to be repaired. That is so easy to see, if we would just take a good look at ourselves and realize that we are dying, seriously unworthy to stand before God, and in need of what God has to offer. The second is not so hard, once you have come to terms with the first; because the second thing we need to believe, is that God has made the Way to fix this broken mess! You would think that because it was so easy, many more people would be standing in line to be repaired. Not everyone wants to be fixed! It makes no sense why, except that people just love to remain broken. Another way to look at this, is if we were all just plants or grass; cut off from sun and water, we are dead, dried up, and waiting to be thrown in the fire. That might sound like a pretty drastic illustration, but it's really not too far from the truth. The Good News part of that illustration is easy to see; we see what we are, and we see that God has the water and light we need, and it's ours for the asking. All that we need to do is ask...
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."" (John 3:16-21) NLT
