"The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness." (Ecclesiastes 10:13 KJV)
"A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, "I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!" Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, "I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?" Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered." (Acts 19:11-16 NLT)
Hopefully you have been paying attention to some of the verses that I have been putting up; because this is more about who we might believe in, what He came to do, and how what He did completed a Good Work in our lives! I say completed because it is so! Not that it is all complete here on the earth; but He has fortified our place in heaven and already given the place where we will soon end up; for eternity is already ours!
Last night Pastor Daniel was sharing on the chapters 10 and 11 from Revelation, which he referenced as a pause of interlude, between the sixth and seventh Trumpet. As he started out, he pictured that John was no longer in heaven, as he had been when he saw the Lamb, who was worthy to open the scroll; but that now he was back on earth, where he witnessed a giant angel, who had one foot in the sea and another on the land.
In that angel's hand was a small scroll, or as the Scripture says, "he had in his hand a little book". When the angel cried with a loud voice, seven thunders uttered their voices, and John was about to write what was said; but he heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not." (Revelation 10:4 KJV)
There are just some things we don't know, because God doesn't want us to know! This must be the things which are assured and already completed; otherwise, what we do, or how would carry ourselves, if we already knew, what, how, and when, everything actually was, is, and forever will be. Time was made for this world, meaning the worldly life in which mankind lives in this created space.
God lives in a place where time is eternal; there are no days and nights; everything is totally different than that which He created, for us. How all that looks and what it might be, therein is the question; but it is not for us to know what will finally be, except what He tells us, because the rest is too much for us to completely understand.
That said, there is something about what I have been putting forth these last couple of day; something that I feel is of great importance. Why did you accept Jesus into your heart? What were you looking for when you believed in Him? If you were looking for a better life, you might not have found it. If you were looking for the relationships in your life to be healed, you might have been disappointed. If you were hoping to find happiness and your friends to like you, you might have been totally let down.
Jesus came here to give us eternal life; that we could live forever with Him and experience the love of our Heavenly Father! That is the real reason we should be counting on Him; everything else is just the things that fade and will just be parts of this fallen world. It is the life we have in Heaven with Him that needs to be the reason, which, whether you can believe it or not, is already secured and waiting for you, in eternity...
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance - an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change or decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see." (1 Peter 1:3-5 NLT)
