"Worldly Points of View" - To

"The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness." (Ecclesiastes 10:13 KJV)

"Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. and she anointed Jesus' feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance. But Judas Iscariot, the disciple who would soon betray him, said, "That perfume was worth a year's wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor." Not that he cared for the poor - he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples' money, he often stole some for himself. Jesus replied, "Leave her alone. She did this in preparation for my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me." When all the people heard of Jesus' arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus." (John 12:3-11 NLT)

Without much hesitation, I will try my very best to make this point: If you have been purchased by the blood of Christ, you are His property for eternity! It really doesn't matter whether you have been saved for a few minutes, or you've been saved for over a hundred year; you are His and He is your Lord! So, the real question you might ask yourself, is, 'Do I have the power to undo what He has done?'

There are several different ways to make this more presentable, the one I like most is the time Jesus was sleeping in the boat, as the ship was being tossed, and the disciples thought He didn't care if they died, as it appeared that they were going to sink into the sea. Jesus clearly said that they were going to cross to the other side; He didn't say, 'Let's go for a swim!'

The point of this is rather simple: When He offered you to receive eternal life, and when you stepped into that boat, you automatically began your journey to the other side! Your eternal life had been granted, and you were now born into the family of God. Did that mean there wouldn't be storms or times of testing? No! As a matter of fact, there are storms and testing taking place all around us; but they are meant to be for the strengthening of our faith!

When we come to understand and believe that we have been already there, as if the whole journey is already placed in heaven, and now we are just riding out the journey here on earth; therefore, we can better feel a little comfort within each and every storm, comfort enough to rest and try to enjoy the ride...

"By his divine nature, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires." (2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT)
