"God's Protection"

"Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand." (Psalms 37:24) Amazingly enough, even the bad choices that we make, God can make something good out of the bad; it really comes down to His purpose for our life, not our desire; because if we are truly seeking God's direction for our life, then He will not let us get too far off track. We all have our bad days, some more than others, but nobody is perfect, except one, and that is Jesus Christ; that said, we all need to strive for being perfect, because we are to follow after Him and walk as He walked; although it is impossible for us to do, it is still that which we set out to attain. That is the beauty of God's grace; because of our inability to become holy and to live out perfect righteousness, God's grace allows us to claim the cross of Christ for our inadequacies and imperfections. Basically that is what sin is, missing the mark; our mark is to achieve holiness, and we miss it every time we set out to achieve it; we don't even need to practice sin, it is just part of this thing we call the flesh; and as long as we are still in the earthen vessel, the flesh will continue to want what it wants. Some people view God's grace as a safety net, as if taking a chance to step out in sin will not hurt them, because if they fall, God's grace will catch them; not exactly the practice of holiness, but it is a way to test God's mercy. Because the way I see it, it is God's mercy that is the safety net when we take those kind of chances: His mercy does not allow us to receive that which we deserve, because when we step out to sin, we deserve death. On the other hand, as we practice to be holy, God's grace lifts us higher than we can get on our own; as a matter of fact, God's grace already has us seated in heavenly places, where we are secure in Christ Jesus for ever more; which is not due to anything that we can do or not do, but is due totally on what Jesus has done; for the grace of God is giving us that which we do not deserve, which is holiness and perfection in Christ... "But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace, in His kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:4-10)
