"All or Nothing"

"The LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off." (Psalms 37:28) I know it might sound a little harsh, and maybe even pressing into the area of no return; but God commands our respect! As I was praying myself to sleep last night, those three words kept flashing upon my heart; I would like to say that they were upon my mind, but images of past sinful thoughts were flashing into my mind; maybe hundreds of them all laced together, as if a movie were playing on several different screens, overlapping each other, and blended together; it was all that I could do to just get them out of my head. It was then that God gave me an illustration of what those things mean to Him, and how by doing them, I am nothing more than an unfaithful spouse is to their mate; taking the love that I have been given for granted, and not loving back in a way of gratitude and respect. All or nothing may not sound like it is possible, let alone something that God might require of us, but I believe as far as "judgment" goes, it is not only required, but is part of what it means to be "His saints". I see these signs all over, especially posted out in front of public schools, that say, "Let's Do This!", which is a slogan for getting signed up for the new heath care law; but it could also be a slogan for the church, where we all decide to stop playing church, and start giving God 100% of our lives. Really, we may not even realize the power that sin has in our lives, that is until that sin is magnified and is all of the sudden brought to the surface of our hearts; then we not only feel the power, but we can't wait to get free from it, because it makes us feel ugly and ashamed; much the same as an unfaithful spouse might feel, when their secret life is found out and all is exposed. That little fling, is not so little in the sight of a Holy God; and the reflection on His love, well, let's just say it does not reflect back very well at all. The word "judgment" is a word that describes making the right choices; choosing to do good instead of doing what is bad, which is paramount to what is required of being a saint; not as though we can, but because we must. As hard as that is to understand, it is really not that difficult to give to the Lord, and then let Him direct your mind and your heart; after all, that is what He is waiting for, because it really is "All or Nothing" when it comes to surrendering our life; we can't abide in Him and in the world also... "If so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." (Ephesians 4:21-24)
