"Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him." (John 9:23 KJV)
"Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety." (Proverbs 29:25 NLT)
Hopefully I can get through this without too much of a problem, because I feel we seriously need to start focusing on the blessings and stop worrying about the problems. First and foremost, I know that my sins have been forgiven and that I will have eternal life in with Jesus! Everything else is secondary, at best!
Take a really close look at what John is saying here, because this is where most people are, passing the duty of sharing their faith onto someone else. It is hard to get by in this life without worry, but worry is the opposite of trusting in the LORD! Consequently, when we worry about this life, the blessings that have been bestowed upon us, seemingly are hard to find; almost as if they have been somehow removed.
If you really want to get right down to it, we are given a chance to share our faith, once we embrace the trial and the difficulties that might come upon us. Case in point, these parents let off as if they knew not, but they knew! The whole crowd that witnessed what Jesus did, knew that Jesus was the one who healed the blind guy; and so, did the Jews!
So, it really wasn't a matter of them needing to know; they just what to try to erase the miracle, any way that they could! Really, it is pretty much about us! We the people, those of us that might not seem to matter all that much, when we start caring more about what God thinks, and less about what man might think, we can start turning our cities up-side-down!
If you are seemingly in the middle of something, you cannot seem to understand or find answers to, then embrace it as a trial, and believe that God has something more important than whatever it is that you might be worried about! Even if it is just a chance to share your faith in God, you will be making a bigger difference than most...
""But don't be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear! Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. What is the price of two sparrows - one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."" (Matthew 10:26-31 NLT)
