"Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?" (John 9:10 KJV)
"Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother's womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don't know if profit will come from one activity or another - or maybe both." (Ecclesiastes 11:5, 6 NLT)
Now, we look to that which is the most important thing about what this whole message is about: What it is that God does when He changes us and makes us into a child of God! The interesting thing about the fact of us being a city on a hill, is not just the fact that we are aware what we are, and we know that people are looking up to witness our lives; but it is the more important fact, that we really have no idea what is happening in the hearts of those onlookers, as to what God is doing, how He touches seeds that are planted, or what comes from the light that is seen in us.
This is important, because we really need to trust God by believing He uses us to be a light for Him. We really don't get to see all that goes on in the hearts of people we touch or speak to; so, we must not get discouraged if we cannot see what we have done is paying off. As a matter of fact, it is not really about anything that we do that counts; but it is about what Christ does through us!
We are just a jar of clay that is being used for God's glory! This isn't about the blind guy getting his sight, but about our amazing God that gives sight to the blind. When people look upon this city, they need to see Jesus: in one way or another He must be lifted up. Then it is not about us or our light, but His Light that shines the brightest...
"Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone." (Colossians 4:2-6 NLT)
