"His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:" (John 9:20 KJV)
"Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore."" (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NLT)
Here is a funny fact: the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge for this particular verse says, "There are no entries for this verse!" I say funny, because this verse is based upon a fact! There is no doubt that these parents knew who their son was and that he was born blind, because since his birth, they raised him and managed their lives around his blindness.
I mean, really! How about "know"? I'm pretty sure that there are hundreds of references to that one word alone, many of which are connected to and about seeing, as in: "to see!" After all, we are talking about if this man could have seen or not; so why could it be that there are no Cross-References? Maybe that is why there is an exclamation after that statement!
Anywho! It is really nice to have something to talk about that is based upon a fact, because there is a whole lot of things being talked about, seemingly more and more every day, that are based upon whatever and whoever, without a single fact associated with anything being said.
If, and when, I can ever get done with this Book, I feel as though my next Book is going to be on the Book of Ecclesiastes. Not because I am familiar with the text, because I am not; to be perfectly honest, I have maybe gone through whole Book as many times as I have gone through the entire Bible, which is not enough!
The reason I am so interested in Ecclesiastes, is because withing that last few years it has been the topic of discussion in many messages I have heard. And without a doubt, the scale of why it is written, what condition Solomon was in when he wrote it, and what meaning is placed to whatever is being said, is like a scale of One to One Thousand!
Let's come to some sort of agreement on this: If It Is In The Bible, GOD Has Endorsed The Content...
"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT)
