"When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay," (John 9:6 KJV)
"Then the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7 KJV)
If you haven't yet heard this comparison, please understand that it is just a little symbol of how God uses the dust from the ground, forming it into clay. As I said yesterday, Jesus could have just spoken, and the man would have been able to see; but He instead illustrated a point, the illustration of forming clay with His spittle!
That might not be how He formed Adam; however, He did form man from the ground! All the other things in creation were spoken into existence, but man was formed into a creature that was made into His image. Whatever that image might be, we will know soon enough, because John says: "Beloved, now are we the sons of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." (1 John 3:2 NKJV)
With that, let me say that God is not done with you yet! This stage of our existence is basically just a time of sanctification, as God is making us pure, as in the process of making us set apart. How that works, is totally and completely dependent upon the person; we are all different, with our own circumstances and issues, so we each have our own ways to be set apart, or purified, if that works better for you.
When we first asked Jesus Christ into our hearts, we were immediately justified: Just as if we had never sinned! Our eternal soul had been cleansed from every sin! Consider this part of the phase, as God dealing with the mud...
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8:1 KJV)
