"Then again they called the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner." (John 9:24 KJV)
"The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit." (Romans 8:3-4 NLT)
Having been there, I can say with all certainty, there is a real spirit which causes those opposed to Christ to harden their hearts and refuse to accept Him as God. John references this spirit as the antichrist, as if that is the purpose, to turn people away from Christ.
There is more to this than many people might realize. We can talk about God, as in a general sense, and many people will not take too much offence. But, as soon as you start declaring the name of Jesus, you will start to offend people, and you will become an enemy to their comfortable sin.
It might sound crazy, but it's true! There is just something about the name of Jesus that draws out sin; seriously! If you don't know by now why that might be, it is because He has the power over sin: He has defeated the power of sin, and our sinfulness is exposed by the power of His name!
Anywho, however you might see it works, is your prerogative, as long as you agree that Jesus Christ is, was, and always will be God! Even the thought of what is being said, sends those that oppose Christ Jesus, into a fit of rage, or at the very least, to turn and run! If you would just declare it, then you will know what I mean: the very Name, Jesus, has the ability to push back the power of darkness!
When darkness hides, sin is exposed...
"If anyone claims, "I am living in the light," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness. Anyone who loves another brother or sister is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble. But anyone who hates another brother or sister is still living and walking in darkness. Such a person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness." (1 John 2:9-11 NLT)
