"Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven." (John 6:32 KJV)
"One day the group of prophets came to Elisha and told him, "As you can see, this place where we meet with you is too small. Let's go down to the Jordan River, where there are plenty of logs. There we can build a new place for us to meet."
"All right," he told them, "go ahead."
"Please come with us" someone suggested.
"I will," he said. So he went with them.
When they arrived at the Jordan, they began cutting down trees. But as one of them was cutting a tree, his ax head fell into the river. "Oh, Sir!" he cried. "It was a borrowed ax!"
"Where did it fall?" the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface. "Grab it," Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it." (2 Kings 6:1-7 NLT)
Have you ever wondered why the center of the earth is molten? Not that it much matters, since there appears to be nothing much that it does, except spew lava upon the surface of the earth, every so often. But if God made it that way, there is surely some reason that it is made the way it is made. God does everything in order! Order is a word that has several very distinct meanings, yet there are always some over-lapping connections that link them together.
Please forgive me if I speak out of sequence or step too far outside the lines; but there is something here that we must really investigate and see if there is something to ooze out of what Jesus is telling these misguided people. Maybe it really doesn't matter; after all, the Book of John makes it very clear, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3 KJV)
In order to understand the sequence of the origin of the Manna, it might be worth our time to see the reason that God provided that bread from heaven in the manor that He did. He could have just made loaves of bread fall from the ski; or He could have sprung up wheat or barley or rye, right up out of the desert ground. There was a specific order at work in what was done; which might have been, in order to make it something that caused man to participate, and to learn how to trust.
Whether we can understand it or not, but God's ways are surely not always the way we might do things; and they surely don't always make things easier for us to understand. Quite frankly, I am still trying to understand things that happened years ago; so it is only natural for me to just stop trying to figure things out, and just go with whatever, whenever, and however it might happen.
It is all about Trust! We must trust God, no matter what it is or how little we know about the way or the what of it; if it is happening or has happened, it is in order for something good...
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen." (1 John 5:20-21 KJV)
