"The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?" (John 6:41-42 KJV)
"Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of this world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father." (Galatians 4:3-6 KJV)
I know, strange title! Yes, but what are they saying? Really, what do they say to one another, as those doves or pigeons are gathered together, constantly cooing, as if they just enjoy hearing their own voices? Really, this is about complaining about what we know nothing about; and not being thankful for, that we have been given, which we can't even see, even though it is right there in front of us!
Could I begin to tell you what is on my heart? Who really would care, if I even tried? We really have so much to be thankful for, most of which we take for granted. There is really so much more to this life than living for it; we must be living in it, making a difference, and taking every opportunity to share the Love of God. I hope you understand what it is that I am trying to say, because it is about living in the moment!
I know, strange idea coming from a guy that always has his head in the clouds; but if you were to look carefully at the times Jesus spent going from one place to another, He was always looking towards that which was to come, but He also never stopped living in the moment! Anyone He dealt with or healed or made contact with, He made sure that the current moment counted for something that meant something to them.
Even though a healing would not last more than their lifetime, it mattered to them; and because it was something which mattered to them, it was something that gave Jesus joy to be a part of, no matter how long it would last. Also take note of how often Jesus was interrupted, yet He never hardly turned down a sudden request; well at least one time He totally ignored many, save one...
"The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. "He saved others," they said, "let him save himself if he is really God's Messiah, the Chosen One." The soldiers mocked him, too, by offering him a drink of sour wine. They called out to him, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!" A sign was fastened above him with these words: "This is the King of the Jews." One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, "So you're the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself - and us too, while you're at it!" But the other criminal protested, "Don't you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn't done anything wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." And Jesus replied, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise."" (Luke 23:35-43 NLT)
