I also thought about the human condition - how God proves to people that they are like animals. For people and animals share the same fate - both breathe and both must die. So people have no real advantage over the animals. How meaningless! Both go to the same place - they came from dust and they return to dust. So who can prove that the human spirit goes up and the spirit of animals goes down unto the earth? So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. That is why we are here! No one will bring us back from death to enjoy life after we die." (Ecclesiastes 3:16-22 NLT)
"And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast harkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of the life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee: and thou shalt eat the herb of the field: in the sweat of thy face shalt thy eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." (Genesis 3:17-19 KJV)
Shifting gears, as it were; in this life there is injustice! We live in a fallen world, so things don't seem fair or just, because this place is broken! That said, Solomon makes sure to reference that this is a place that is under the sun, meaning that the world in which we live is not perfect!
It never really was, absolutely perfect; not as God would have it to be! I know that I will have disagreement from some over that statement, because God made an end to making everything, saying, "It was very good." (Genesis 1:31) Yet, as I once pointed out, the Second Day, which was a day in which God created a separation, making Heaven, He did not say that it was good!
Go ahead and throw rocks at me, but the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was placed in the middle of that garden for a reason! When the Bible says that God established and planned for our Salvation before the world began, it means that He knew all along, it was what He needed to do...
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.
