"Hidden Secret"

"Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable." (Psalms 145:3)

It really is no secret that our God is an awesome God; at least not for those that know Him and call Him their God! To get right to the point: knowing the things of God is something that requires us to be in touch with His character and reasoning; which requires the Holy Spirit to reveal those things in us. I can still remember the moment I got saved, and how it was abundantly clear to me that I needed to be saved, in the exact place, and at that exact moment. There was no hesitation whatsoever; as a matter of fact, I was looking for any kind of an excuse to raise my hand or step forward. So, when that opportunity presented itself, I raised both hands, and was more than willing to participate in repeating that "Sinners Prayer"! Surprisingly, that was the first time of many that I have prayed that prayer; because the longer I live, the easier it is to feel the need for His forgiveness. Probably the thing that I dislike most about large congregations, is the chatter that happens when there is a move of the Spirit upon anyone in leadership to go forward and ask for forgiveness. I wish it wasn't that way, but the thing that prevents those in leadership from doing that, is pretty much for that same reason. They are concerned for what might be said and what the congregation might assume is going on in their life. James make a powerful request to the believers, not to unbelievers, but to those that have already been saved, saying, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (James 4:8-10) To understand the seriousness of what James is speaking about, he makes sure to mention that it is not a laughing matter. If you are not ready to get serious about the sin that is revealed in your heart, then to is only natural for your joy in be turned to heaviness; but if your heart has been made hard to sin, then it is actually something you must let happen, because your heart will resist it. James follows up this powerful request with a very stern warning: "Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law; but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou to judge?" (James 4:11-12) That is the thing about this, so called, religion: It is all about a personal relationship between every individual one of us and God! There is only One to whom we will be held accountable to, so we had better do all that we can to please that One, and not be concerned with what anyone else thinks about it! There is the hidden secret, in case you are looking for it; because your not going to find it by trying to do good or trying to please others; it is just you and God, when it comes to the forgiveness of sin...

"To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the your men shall utterly fall: but that that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:25-31)
