"The Unmovable Side"

"Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies." (Psalms 119:157)

Besides the fact that there is nothing more important than eternity with the Lord, there is another solid reason we should stay committed, no matter what: Our God is an Awesome God!!! This word for "testimonies" is a little different than the other, the one that is always plural; this one speaks of witness; as in, witness the power and majesty of Almighty God! As crazy as things might get, or the more we face trials and tribulations, there is nothing here that can even come close to the power and majesty of our God. It might take a few minutes to let that sink in, because there are so many things that get in the way of our spiritual vision. One of the things Jesus spoke of that the church needed, it was that they would be able to see. What a difference a little perspective makes on the way we view the things that are important and what we must truly fear. Simply put, the cone or triangle theory of looking at God in relationship with our worries or trials, or even our spiritual challenges, is not a theory at all, it is a fact! We can either view our issues as the larger side of the triangle and God at the point; or we can view our tiny little issues as the point and the larger side represents our powerful God. Which one do you think would make you feel more secure? Besides, what is the worst thing that can happen to us here? Not opening the door of our heart would be the top of my list...

"It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: "Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." (2 Corinthians 15:52-58) NLT
