"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and if the joints and marrow, and is s discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)
"In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it." (John 1:1-5 NLT)
I have bumped it up a little, not doing too many repeats of some of the previous verses, just so I can spend a little extra time in this specific verse. This was one of verses that caused me to start that crossword puzzle I talked about, the one that pointed out the points in the Bible, both Old and New Testament writings, that show that Jesus is God; that Jesus was always with God, and that all things were created through Him!
If you have studied the Bible for any length of time, you should have discovered that the Word of God is the most important part of what you have been reading. God's Word should never be taken lightly, as if there is anything being stretched out or a metaphor, as if what is being said is not literally applicable.
There are several, so called knowledgeable people, who have spoken of the Bible as if it was filled with fables and stories handed down; many of which are exaggerated, or stretched out, trying to complete a story that is meant to be allegories or symbols showing truths about human nature and man's existence.
To that, I say: Hogwash! When you start looking into God's word, there are things too logical to have been just conjured up or known; especially the prophecies that have very specific details. Just the examples of what was spoken about Jesus, those alone are enough to make the case that the Bible is real, and the words are all put together by God's Spirit, speaking through each and every writer; all of which were guided and directed by the same Holy Spirit, through many generations.
They say that there are 47 Old Testament prophecies and about Jesus; that alone is enough to make a case that the Bible is real! If you investigate the theories about the chances of those coming true, based upon the times that they were written, the chances are pretty much impossible to happened without God's hand putting everything into place...
"He came into the very world he created, but the world didn't recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believe in him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn - not with a physical birth resulting from human passions or plan, but a birth that comes from God. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son." (John 1:10-14 NLT)
