"Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." (Hebrews 4:13 KJV)
"It was the Lord's Day, and I was worshipping in the Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast. It said, "Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cites of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelpha, and Laodicea."" (Revelation 1:10-11 NLT)
Just so you know, these last two mornings I wanted to breakdown all those words that were listed as the things which God's Word can and will do: but for some reason I continued to ramble on, speaking about other things. These last few weeks I have been somewhat distracted and feeling as though I just want to quit, sell everything I have, and take my wife on the road. Before I can physically do that, I need to make a few changes in the RV, in order to safely move her from the chair to the bed, and bed to the chairs, both wheelchair and shower chair. We are quickly approaching our 43rd wedding anniversary, which will be in two days. What a ride it has been! I am so much looking forward to being with her and our son, as we stand before the Lord in Heaven!
I can still pick her up and carry her, but things aren't what they use to me. I remember coming home from work, as Marianne would greet me, and ask for "An uppy," which was us locking our hands together, as I lifted her up off the ground. Sometimes I would pick her up in my arms and curl her, kissing her each time she came close to my face. I still do that now, but only once, as I don't have the strength I had 22 years ago.
Anywho; this verse is one that speaks about the fact that the Lord sees everything; especially in the church! Oh, He sees everything else as well, but His main concern is on the church; which is all about you and me, as we are all members of His body! Imagine, for a moment, what that actually means and what the implications are, for those that might want to harm or come against His body.
Yesterday I was listening to Pastor Jack, who happened to be setting next to Pastor Jeff, at Calvary Chapel of Downey, when my wife and I were getting interviewed for our Mariage Counseling, back in the beginning of 1982. Jack was sharing about some of the churches that are allowing same-sex couples to be leaders and elders in their churches. He said that the judgment of society has changed, as now if we say that kind of lifestyle is wrong, then you are marked as a bad person, who doesn't love others.
Society has surely changed, but the Bible still remains the same...
"So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is way God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved." (Romans 1:24-27 NLT)
