"The Way"

 "For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house." (Hebrews 3:3 KJV)

  "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him. He existed before anything else, and holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross." (Colossians 1:15-20 NLT)

 There is only one way for us to be saved; keeping the Ten Commandments, which might make you a good person, won't get you into the Promise Land! I was listening to Pastor Jack yesterday afternoon, and he was sharing a story about a very intelligent man, who was really quite stupid. The main thing he said about that man's stupidity, was that he called God a child abuser, because He sent His Son to die on the cross. 

 Maybe that doesn't sound stupid to some, but as the Bible clearly says, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent." (1 Corinthians 1:19 NLT) Before I was saved, the cross was just something we wore around our neck, as a symbol of being part of something, not really understanding what it really meant. 

 Jesus died on that cross for a very specific reason, to pay the penalty for our sins! Each and every one of us could never afford to pay that price, all the money in the world wouldn't help; working to do the things that are good, no matter how hard we tried, there would still be sin in our lives! That is what He died for, to take away the sins we were born with, which is why we needed to be Born Again! 

 I know there are some who will say that it isn't fair, as if people who work hard to be good should be given some sort of waiver or ticket to Paradise; but there is no other way to be saved, other than, truly believing in Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He paid on that cross...

"For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." Romans 3:20-23 NLT)
